Harley: Attended St Stephen’s CofE Primary School
Have you enjoyed your first couple of months at Deptford Green School?
Yes I have really enjoyed my first few weeks.
What have you enjoyed most so far?
I have enjoyed all the wonderful teachers because they have been so kind and understanding with me and other students.
I have also really enjoyed reading library books In the library because there is a range of interesting and thrilling genres and the librarian, Miss Walker, is funny and gets along with everyone.
What has been done at school to help you settle in?
Deptford Green has helped me to settle in by inviting us to come in at the start of the summer holidays for a summer school, to meet all the teachers and get used to the school building.
What was the biggest change between primary and secondary school?
The biggest change between primary and secondary school was that there are flights and flights of stairs that you constantly have to go up and down over and over again!
What is your favourite subject and why?
My favourite subject is English because my English teacher, Mr Ibachirene- Firth, is so fun and relatable. Also, the classes he teaches are very interesting and helpful when it comes to reading and writing.
Have you taken part in any extracurricular activities so far?
Yes, I have taken part in an after-school art club which was very fun. We learnt about a new artist and started a project making letter boxes with the sort of designs the artist produces.
What are you most looking forward to for the rest of the year?
I am looking forward to the school trip to Marchants Hill next week and also the many trips and out of school activities to come!
