Equity & Diversity @ DG
Deptford Green is a vibrant and diverse inner city community school. We place a strong emphasis on Equity and Diversity and this has always been a key focus for us. It's why the relationships between all members of our school community are harmonious, positive and long-lasting. We have high ambitions to be as inclusive as we can be, with social justice and critical thinking at the heart of everything we do. Student voice and the views of our staff have shaped our Equity and Diversity Strategy.

E&D NEWS
We are excited to announce that DG's Head of History, Zara Daswani, has contributed as an author for Oxford University Press's latest book Asian Empires and the Silk Roads. Ms Daswani had the privilege of writing the chapters on the Ottoman Empire.
This book is a fantastic resource for diversifying the curriculum, and many schools have already pre-ordered it to be incorporated into their lessons. This publication aligns perfectly with the Deptford Green culture and diversity initiative, placing decolonised and diverse education at the forefront.
Ms Daswani said, "It’s great to be part of such a significant project that is helping to shape how we teach history, and I’m really proud of the work. It’s also exciting for me to represent Deptford Green as Head of Department, helping to position Deptford Green at the forefront of both historical pedagogy and diversity!". Well done Ms Daswani!
