  • Dream Days

Each year in June all our students in KS3 attend a range of visits to museums, galleries and performing arts venues as well as attending arts based, professionally led workshops, over a two-day period. The theme for these two days is always My GREAT Big Dream. Students are encouraged to dream big, to think about their futures, to make connections between the arts, what they love and the world of work.

Some of the places we visit and workshops include:

    • The Horniman Museum
    • The Maritime Museum in Greenwich
    • The Tate Modern
    • The National Theatre and Southbank Centre
    • The London Screen Academy
    • Goldsmiths
    • Ravensbourne Arts College
    • Circus Skills Workshops
    • The Africa Experience
    • Irie Dance
    • Deptford X Festival

Each year students have many encounters with industry professionals, employers and colleges of Further and higher education.

    Principles and Purpose:
    • To explore and celebrate personal ambitions, helping our students to understand their potential and what they can be in the future.
    • To develop a sense of agency and cultural capital. Knowing what is available on the doorstep and how to access it confidently.
    • To understand the importance of wellness, in its fullest sense.
    • To build relationships and network and to understand the power in these things.
    • To ensure all students have an exposure to creativity and the arts and to understand the lifelong benefits of this.
    • To create legacy in and around the school as a physical reminder of the connections and collaborations that are part of the creative process.
