What has staff done to help you to settle in at Deptford Green?

Staff are always around on doors and corridors asking if we need help or support. They make sure we feel welcome and reward us for hard work.

What has been done at school to help you settle in?

Made sure teachers are around if we need support during break and lunch which makes us feel safe.

What was the biggest change between primary and secondary school?

I think the biggest change is the size of the building, different teachers and moving from class to class. Having a tutor group is different and I like that because we have time to talk, get support with homework on a Tuesday.

What are lessons like at Deptford Green?

Lessons are fun and enjoyable; teachers help you to focus and make the lessons engaging. My favourite lesson is drama because the warm-ups every lesson are fun and I like performing in front of the class.

Apart from lessons what are your favourite things about Deptford Green?

I really enjoy moving from class to class and getting to meet different teachers who are fun. I enjoy the lunches and lunch times with our new football MUGA. Gym club on a Wednesday morning before school is also fun and a good way to start my day.

What has staff done to help you to settle in at Deptford Green?

Mr. Stamp makes jokes and has made his Geography lessons fun, and he is one of my trusted adults with Mr. Neil and Mr. Sinclair. The teachers make lessons a safe space and staff always check in on students.
