What has been done at Deptford Green to help you settle in?

Friendship afternoon, induction day and even the CATs testing day helped me to make friends and settle in. The first three periods of tutor time helped me to get to know my form tutor and get to know the students in my form class.

What was the biggest change between primary and secondary school?

Moving between classes is different and makes things exciting. I also having different teachers, my favourite teachers are my form tutor Mr. Bonsu, Ms Mackness, Ms. Daswani and Ms. Williams - my dance teacher. Wearing a school uniform was new for me and I really enjoy wearing it.

What are lessons like at Deptford Green?

They are very good, teachers make the lessons fun, which is different from primary school, and we can participate more in lessons.

Apart from lessons, what are your favourite things about Deptford Green?

I like the opportunities to go on school trips, such as the British Museum, and the Theatre. I also like the layout of the school day with a break every two lessons.

What advice would you give to anyone considering Deptford Green School?

Not to worry about anything. If you do not have friends coming from primary school, do not worry. You will make friends and have opportunities to meet people. Secondary schools are not as scary as you think.
