In October 2025, we proudly celebrated our 50th anniversary, marking five decades of learning, community, and achievement. The milestone was commemorated with a joyful celebration that brought together students, staff, alumni, families, and friends of the school. The event reflected on our rich history while celebrating the vibrant, inclusive community that Deptford Green is today. As we honoured the past, we also looked ahead with pride and optimism, reaffirming our commitment to inspiring and supporting future generations for many years to come.
The crowds gathered and it was great to see recognition breaking across people’s faces as they saw a classmate or a teacher from years gone by. Conversations and stories were swapped about the intervening years. We had lots of photos of the old days on display, some of which have now become part of a permanent exhibition in school.
Sir Keith Ajegbo, our longest serving head to date, addressed everyone and talked about the things that he thought made the school special. He talked about the building blocks, put in place many years ago, that form the foundations of what we are today. Two bands also played at the event, The Sundries, made up of a number of our staff and The Pryme Kingz with Dixie Fernandez, who is a former student of the school.
At the event we launched the Sir Keith Ajegbo fund, aimed at supporting our students and removing barriers so they can thrive. More information can be found here: The Sir Keith Ajegbo Fund
We also remade our legendary Perfect Day video with current students and a surprise guest appearance at the end.
