GCSE Results Day 25th August 2022

The results are in!

On Thursday our Year 11’s arrived in the pouring rain excited and nervous about opening the envelopes containing the outcomes of 2 years of hard work and revision. I am delighted to inform you that this cohort have achieved incredibly well, with the best GCSE results in formal exams across many of the key measures since the introduction of the grades 9-1 in 2017. (You will of course know that the past two years students have not sat formal exams in the same way as this year).

We are so proud of all our students. The past two years have been particularly challenging with the pandemic, lockdowns and increased anxiety and speculation about the return to formal exams.

56% of students achieved a grade 4+ or higher in English and Maths with 14% achieving a grade 7-9 across both of these core subjects. We have seen a significant increase in progress data for every subject area, with particular success in History, Textiles, Science and Music. Language results continue to be strong and outcomes for our SEN students have improved significantly.

We celebrated and recognised our top ten attainers and students with the top progress in our twitter feed https://twitter.com/DeptfordGreen

Huge congratulations to Arlo Challis who achieved an incredible 7x 9s and 2x 7 grades, Anna De Fockert for obtaining 5x 9s and 4x 8s, and Maria Alves Cantisani and Zakaria Arhbalou for being our top improved students in terms of progress.
