As of 1st September 2020:
All year groups will be in school for five hours and will have five lessons. Most lessons will be 1 hour and some will be 30 minutes, this allows us to fit in a 30 minute break for lunch, and, to avoid confusion, we will operate a one week cycle of lessons, so no more week A and B to remember!
• Years 7 and 8 will start school at 9.30am and finish at 2.30pm
• Year 9 and 10 will start school at 10.30am and finish at 3.30pm
• Year 11 will start school at 11.30 am and finish at 4.30pm.
Students will need to arrive no more than 15 minutes before their session begins.
Each year group will come in by a different entrance:
• Years 7, 9, 11 via the normal gate from Fordham Park
• Years 8 and 10 via the Community Gate at the side of the school
On entering the school site students will need to put any facemask worn for the journey in a separate bag and then clean their hands. We do recommend carrying a spare mask that can be used in school should it be necessary.
Each year group can socialise in their designated playground until their start time. When it is time for lessons to start, students will line up in the playground where their teacher will collect them.
Once in their Home Room students will settle to their learning. At the end of each lesson the teacher will leave and the next teacher will come to start their lesson. During the crossover all students will be required to get out their reading book and read silently until their next teacher is ready to get started. During lesson changes staff will be circulating the area to make sure that high standards of behaviour are maintained. Students will be able to use the toilet during lesson time, and each year group will have its own set of toilets.
At their lunch break the year group will follow an assigned route to the canteen and playground.
