Parent Forum: For Parents of Year 7 & 8 ONLY.
On Monday 11th March we will be having Taster Lessons for parents of these two year groups only, in English, Maths and Science so that you can experience what it feels like to be a student at Deptford Green! The aim is to help parents understand the new format 9-1 GCSE’s and what your child/children will be taught when they start on their GCSE pathway.
There will be a carousel system in place where you will have the opportunity to experience 2 out of 3 of the sessions and at the end, there will be a Q&A session. The meeting will start at 7pm promptly and will last approximately an hour. Please could you email MBertram@deptfordgreen.co.uk if you will be attending. We look forward to seeing you there.
About Parent Forums
Parent forums are meetings where parents can ask questions and get their views heard. We want you to be involved in the life of the school.
It is important that we know what we are doing well at, and what we could improve at so we would like to encourage as much participation at these groups as parents and carers can manage. All are welcome and these are very friendly open groups.
We want you to be part of school life and attending the forum is one of the many ways to get involved. The forum is your opportunity to have an active voice in the school so please come along and be a part of our school community.
Mr Phillips and other members of the Senior Leadership team (when relevant) speak at all forums and answer questions parents raise.
The Parents’ Forum provides an opportunity for parents to get involved with the school and to have informal meetings with senior staff on various topics.
Agenda Items at the last forum were:
An opportunity for the school to provide information about key issues that are current
The school's response to questions and issues raised by parents/carers including those raised at the recent PCTA meeting in October: food and catering, school clubs, IT access, etc
An open session for questions that can either be addressed at the meeting or identified for future sessions
Should you wish to submit an agenda item please email the headteacher's PA, Mary Bertram: email@example.com
We welcome parents and carers to inform us of their attendance so that we have an idea of the number of people attending.
