Our aim is that no pupil should leave this school without having had a real sense of achievement in their own ability. The subject area has an outstanding record of achievement with 90-100% of students gaining A-C grades at GCSE in the last 3 years. Ofsted deemed the teaching of Art, Craft and Design to be Outstanding in March 2011.
Citizenship is about building student's sense of agency to influence and impact on the world.
We encourage our students to locate, organise, understand, evaluate, and analyse information using digital technology in an attempt to turn them into ‘digital citizens’.
Design & Technology
DT nurtures the creative development of students through problem solving and technological activities. Details on Food Technology too.
We aim to inspire in our students enjoyment and insight from the dramatic literature, theatre and live performances.
From film reviews to creative narrative writing, students are challenged and encouraged to write at their absolute best.

The study of Geography stimulates an interest in and a sense of wonder about places. It helps young people make sense of a complex and dynamically changing world.
History at Deptford Green is about asking questions about the past and the ways in which the past has been interpreted.
Maths GCSEs develop students ability to think mathematically and to apply Maths in work, further study and their personal lives. it is one of the essential qualifications that future employers look for.
From making magazines to analysing films, deconstructing adverts and learning why sit-coms are funny.
Modern Foreign Languages
MFL enables students to develop an awareness of the nature of the language and the importance of language learning for work, recreation and further study
Music is compulsory at Key Stage 3 and a very
popular option choice at GCSE.
Instrumental lessons available are piano, drums, steel pans, woodwind and guitar.

Students consider the importance of understanding the beliefs and practices of faith traditions as well as considering non-religious approaches to key philosophical, ethical issues
We give students an opportunity to explore scientific concepts through experimentation and demonstrations. The aim is to make science relevant to their everyday lives and fun!
We achieved an outstanding Ofted Subject Inspection in March 2011 and have an over 90% A-C rate at GCSE. We aim to create a lively and informative learning environment that is able to cater equally for the needs of all students.
