Bill Gates at DG!
We had an exciting visit from Bill Gates on 25th January 2012!
He spoke to an assembly on his continuing fight against malaria, polio and poverty followed by a Q&A from our students. ITV, BBC, Channel 4, the Times and many other print journalists attended.
A smaller group of students were then selected to do a live BBC radio show with Mr Gates broadcast from the school. This was focussing on students' and Mr Gates' hopes for the world this year and included a joint converstaion with other schools worldwide linking together via skype.
The Gates Foundation was interested in Deptford Green because of our reputation as an International School with DGI our new international sixth school and long standing global partnership youth exchange with Uganda.
